About this markdown to html

Markdown is the lightweight writing format used by GitHub READMEs, Reddit, Discord, Notion, static site generators and most developer documentation. When you need to paste formatted content into a CMS, an email template or a plain HTML page, you have to convert it to HTML first. This converter renders a live preview as you type and gives you the clean HTML source to copy.

It supports the common subset of Markdown: headings (#), paragraphs, bold and italic, inline code, fenced code blocks, bullet and numbered lists, block quotes, horizontal rules, links and images. All HTML in your input is escaped, so pasted text cannot inject scripts into the preview. Tables and footnotes are not part of this lightweight version.

Typical workflows include drafting a blog post in Markdown and pasting the HTML into WordPress or Blogger’s HTML view, converting a GitHub README section into a landing page snippet, and turning meeting notes into a formatted email newsletter. If you publish the output on a website, wrap it in your own template so it inherits your site’s fonts and colors; the generated tags are deliberately plain and contain no inline styles or classes. For long documents, keep the Markdown as your source of truth and regenerate the HTML whenever you edit, rather than editing the HTML directly, so the two versions never drift apart.

How to use it

  1. Write or paste Markdown in the editor.
  2. Check the rendered preview.
  3. Copy the generated HTML from the bottom box into your site or email.
